PhD opportunity – Monash University

Applications are invited for a PhD Scholarship at Monash University, Melbourne, Australia, to work on the dynamics and modelling of Southern Hemisphere midlatitude cyclones.  The successful applicant may have the opportunity to participate in a Southern Ocean observational field campaign.

This project would have links to the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Climate System Science, which provides opportunities for travel and graduate student development. 

The successful applicant must have the equivalent of an Australian first class honours degree in atmospheric science, mathematics, physics or engineering. The scholarship is open to both Australian and non-Australian students and is funded at the rate of the Australian Postgraduate Award (currently $25392 per annum).
