Post-doctoral fellowship in experimental / theoretical ice nucleation research at ETH Zurich Institute for Atmospheric and Climate Science The Atmospheric Physics group in the ETH Zurich Institute for Atmospheric and Climate Science (IACETH) is looking for a postdoctoral fellow in the field of aerosol and cloud microphysics research with focus on ice nucleation (IN). The applicant should have a strong background in experimental work. Communicative and networking skills are highly advantageous. The focus of this position will be the development of a database for existing and future ice nuclei and cloud condensation nuclei measurements and the interpretation of the data in a broader atmospheric context. The data has to be gathered by the post-doctoral fellow from groups worldwide and adapted to the database. The position is part of the European FP 7 research project BACCHUS (“Impact of Biogenic versus Anthropogenic emissions on Clouds and Climate: towards a Holistic UnderStanding“) including 20 international partners with the Lohmann group at ETH being the coordinator. Besides the responsibilities in the framework of BACCHUS, the position offers the possibility to work experimentally on individual research objectives related to ice nucleation in our group. The postdoctoral position is for 2.5 years. The position requires a PhD in atmospheric physics, atmospheric chemistry or a related field. Applications and questions related to the position should be sent to Dr. Berko Sierau. Applications are expected to include a CV (including education, professional experience, and publications) and two names of persons that could be contacted for reference. Dr. Berko Sierau, Institute for Atmospheric and Climate Science ETH Zurich Universitätsstr. 16 8092 Zurich, Switzerland firstname.lastname@example.org Information on our institute can be found at: www.iac.ethz.ch/groups/lohmann Review of applications will start immediately and will continue until the position is filled. Planned starting date is Jan/Feb 2014.
