Forwarded from CLIMLIST... The Climate Variations and Change (CLIVAC) research group currently has positions available for Ph.D. students. Students will be enrolled in the graduate program in the Department of Geography at the University of California, Santa Barbara, USA. Research topics are in weather and climate variability including extreme precipitation, synoptic analysis, weather forecasting, Madden-Julian Oscillation, climate change and impacts associated with extreme precipitation events. Ideal candidates will have strong undergraduate education in quantitative methods including math, physics and computing skills. Research assistantships include monthly stipends, tuition and fees.
