Faculty positions for Earth and Environmental Sciences

IISER Mohali invites applications for faculty positions in all research
areas of Earth and Environmental Sciences in the broadest sense of the
term from highly accomplished academics. Specific research directions
include but are not limited to:

Earth Science/Geology:
Geology, Geobiology, Geochemistry, Geophysics, Tectonics and Structural
Geology, Petrology, Geomorphology, Astrobiology, Biogeochemistry, Organic
Geochemistry, Geomicrobiology, Microbial ecology, Paleomagnetism,
Mineralogy, Seismology, Geodynamics, Mineral physics, Petroleum studies.

Environmental Science:
Effluent treatment, Waterborne pollutants, Hydrology, Sewage and landfill
treatment, Microbial remediation of pollutants, Forest ecology, Himalayan
ecology, Plant ecosystems, Biogeochemistry, Air pollution and emission
modeling, Chemistry-Climate modeling, Satellite remote sensing, Chemical
meteorology, Meteorology and Micrometeorology, Atmospheric Composition and
Climate Change, Cloud chemistry and physics, Chemical kinetics of
atmospheric processes.

Social and Economic implication of Earth and Environmental Sciences:
Economic geology and natural resource management, Environmental pollution
risk assessment, Natural disaster risk assessment, Disaster prevention,
Disaster management, Climate change risk assessment and vulnerability,
Climate change mitigation

We are looking for researchers who have made outstanding contributions in
their areas of expertise. Please send a cover letter outlining your
research and teaching interests, CV, research plan, offprints of two
published manuscripts and the names and contact information of three
references to deanfaculty@iisermohali.ac.in mentioning “Earth and
Environmental Science faculty application” in the subject line.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to make a presentation at the
institute. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. The emphasis at
IISER Mohali is on both interdisciplinary scholarship and integration of
teaching and research.

IISERs are designated as institutions of national importance within India
inline with IITS and IISc Bangalore. IISER Mohali campus is located near
the planned city of Chandigarh that offers a high quality of life and
immense opportunities for initiating world class research with attractive
start up funds. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work
within and contribute towards the establishment of a premier science
