Research group leader - Head of Rossby Centre

Research within the Rossby Centre is primarily focused on regional and global climate modelling. This means the development, implementation and analysis of climate models, with the aim to increase understanding of risks associated with human-induced climate change and provide projections of the future climate. The group is extensively involved in international projects and collaborations. Currently, there are more than 20 people working at the Rossby Centre.

As Head of the group you will be responsible for human resources, finance, and scientific development reporting to the Head of Research and will sit on the Research Department’s management team. You should have strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to make decisions and drive change, but also be able to listen and have a positive outlook. A PhD and strong research background in climate modelling or a closely related field is essential. Parallel to this position we are also recruiting a Scientific Director who will have a more specific responsibility to develop the scientific focus and external collaboration opportunities of the group.
