Variability in Southern Amazonia is investigated under the influence
of different climate and land use scenarios. An important part of the
work is to analyze, process and produce global and regional atmospheric
data sets over the amazonian basin. The goal is to condense the
modelling efforts into a portable and open source Climate Model Chain
using the Planet Simulator (PlaSim), the Weather Research and Forecast
model (WRF) and the System of Automated Geoscientific Analysis (SAGA).
Since the research area is at the interface between dynamical
meteorology and physical geography the collaboration with partners from
different scientific disciplines is an important part of the project.
