The research associate will work on the retrieval of greenhouse gases (CO2, CH4 and CO) for new satellite mission planed by ESA. Specifically, the expected retrieval performance from spectral measurements by CarbonSat and Sentinel 5 will be investigated to provide a vital link to the science goals of the satellite missions, to provide feedback for the instrument design and the development of calibration and validation approaches. The post will involve further evolving the greenhouse gas retrieval and to tailor it for the CarbonSat and Sentinel 5 missions and to develop a set-up for simulation experiments for both satellite missions. Also, analysis of spectral measurements from the GOSAT satellite instrument will be used to test the retrieval approaches with measured data.

Closing data is: April 6, 2013.
