The Department of Geography and Regional Studies (GRS) at the
University of Miami invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor position in
Physical/Environmental Geography. This position is for one year beginning August 2013. The teaching load will be three courses per semester and we seek someone to teach introductory courses in physical geography, environmental remote sensing, and human-environment
interactions. GRS currently offers BA and MA degrees in Geography as well as graduate and undergraduate certificates in GIS. As part of the College of Arts and Sciences, GRS faculty and students collaborate actively with a range of other academic units at
the University of Miami, including the Abess Center for Ecosystem Science and Policy, the Miller School of Medicine, and the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science. Successful candidates should possess a Ph.D. in Geography or a related field at
the time of appointment. ABD students also may be considered.
