Stable Isotope laboratory Manager Position, open immediately:

The Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University is hiring a lab
manager to maintain and run a multi-instrument stable isotope ratio mass
spectrometry (SIRMS) facility for the analysis of carbonates, water, and
organic compounds.  The facility consists of six mass spectrometers, four of
which were installed in 2011 and 2012. Instruments include 1.) one Elementar
Isoprime 100 w/ dual inlet and multiprep for d18O and d13C analysis of
carbonate samples,  d18O and dD of water, and a 10 collector isotopologue
array for the analysis of multiply substituted isotopes of CO2.  2.) A
Thermo Delta V+ w/ dual inlet and Kiel IV, and Gasbench II continuous flow
operating modes to analyze carbonate samples and water samples; 3.) A Thermo
Delta V+ w/ Conflo IV, Trace GC and Isolink, TC/EA, Costech EA w/autosampler
and configured for the stable isotopic (d18O, d13C, d15N, dD) analysis of
bulk and compound-specific organics and tree ring samples; 4.) A Picarro
L1102-ia wavelength-scanned cavity ring-down spectrometer for the analysis
of water samples and field deployment; 5.) two VG Optima SIRMS, each with
dual inlet and multiprep and one with CNS analyzer.  The instruments are
housed in a newly-renovated, state-of-the-art, 1,500 sf laboratory.

The successful candidate will have a BS in science plus 4 years of related
