Faculty position at Ecole normale supérieure (Paris, France)

The Geosciences Department of the Ecole normale supérieure (ENS) in Paris invites applications for a professor position to start in fall 2013 in the area of dynamical and physical oceanography and meteorology.

The successful candidate will provide lectures in one or more of the following topics : basic mathematics and physics for geosciences, physical oceanography and meteorology, geophysical fluid dynamics. The successful candidate is also expected to participate in the organisation of the under graduate/master curriculum and in the curriculum of a future Institute of Environmental Sciences.

The successful candidate will conduct research in the Laboratoire de Météorologie Dynamique, wich is part of the Geosciences Department, on different aspects of dynamical and physical oceanography and meteorology. Interactions with local LMD teams, and the development of new research topics will be appreciated. The development of other research interests at the interface with Solid Earth, another part of the Geosciences Department, like geomorphology and hydrology, or on common tools, like remote sensing, will also be appreciated. Basic knowledge of French is required.
