City of London (Insurance industry) £40,000 - £60,000 + Benefits


A specialist Windstorm Catastrophe Model Developer is required for this leading model development team with one of the world’s leading reinsurance intermediaries. The team creates their own models for use by insurers for global disasters combining expert knowledge with advanced programming capability. This position will focus on windstorms to compliment other specialties within the group.


Coming from a civil/structural engineering background, you will have above-average computing and analytical skills, good knowledge of vulnerability assessment methods and various data analysis methods. Given the sharp learning curve, you will be expected to learn quickly. Excellent communication skills are crucial while presentation skills are advantageous. Postgraduate qualification, ideally educated to PhD level.
