Applications are invited from young post-docs for four Marie Curie Experienced Researcher positions in ITaRS, an EU-funded Initial Training Network with opportunities in the Netherlands, Romania, Italy and Germany. ITaRS - Initial Training for atmospheric Remote Sensing aims at improving our understanding of aerosols, clouds, and aerosol-cloud interaction processes and their role in both climate and weather. For this purpose, the research projects will focus on high-end ground-based remote-sensing instrumentation, synergistic observations and/or mathematical methods.

We offer
• research and training in an exciting European network;
• a highly competitive gross monthly allowance ranging from €3933 to €6277, depending on host country and family status;
• secondments to our industrial partners;
• excellent career-development opportunities.

Single projects will focus on
Influence of long-range transported aerosols on air quality from in situ and remote sensing data (ER5)
Multi-sensor evaluation of cloud-radiation processes (ER9)
Statistical assessment of aerosol influence on cloud properties (ER14)
Aerosol-cloud interaction in the twilight zone (ER15)

We seek excellent candidates with 4-5 years of research experience and a PhD or Master in Meteorology, (Atmospheric) Physics, Mathematics, Engineering or Geosciences. For details of the available posts and the application process, please visit www.itars.net or contact jobs@itars.net. Deadline for the applications is postponed to 13th March, 2013, employment will start from June onward.
