Grade 7: £29,541 - £36,298 p.a.

Applications are invited for two postdoctoral positions within the
Sub-department of Atmospheric, Oceanic and Planetary Physics (AOPP) to
work in the Earth Observation Data Group on the observation of the
Earth's atmosphere from space.

The first post concerns the development of the ORAC retrieval algorithm
to determine cloud and aerosol properties from nadir radiometric
instruments such as AATSR and SEVIRI.

The second post concerns the use of IASI data to investigate the
quantity and evolution of volcanic emissions of ash and SO2.

The appointment is for 1 year initially, commencing on 1 April 2013 or
as soon as possible thereafter. Interviews will take place on 18 March
2013. Only applications received by noon on the 8 March 2013 can be
