Job Title: Assistant Professor, Physics - Atmospheric Science

Job Description:

The University of Nevada Reno (<$1$3>UNR), Department of Physics is pleased to 
announce an opening for a Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Atmospheric 
Science. A Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science or closely related field is required, 
along with an enthusiastic capability for teaching undergraduate and graduate 
courses in dynamic and synoptic meteorology and atmospheric chemistry. The 
candidate should propose a plan to develop and maintain a research program that 
complements our ongoing efforts. Postdoctoral experience is preferred. 
Opportunity exists for occasionally teaching courses in the Physics curriculum 
as well. A collaborative effort between the <$1$3>UNR and the Desert Research 
Institute has maintained a small and vibrant graduate program in Atmospheric 
Science since 1965, and an undergraduate program was established in 2005. 
<$1$3>UNR is a Tier 1 research University with a strong commitment to 
excellence in education. Start-up funds will be provided.

Preferred Qualifications:

  *   Postdoctoral experience is preferred.
  *   Preference will be given to candidates with research specialty in 
meteorological and chemical transport modeling at the local, regional, and/or 
global scale, as well as in the fundamental study of atmospheric predictability.
  *   The candidate should propose a plan to develop and maintain a research 
program that complements our ongoing efforts.

Required Qualifications:

A Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science or closely related field.
