Postdoctoral Position on Mesoscale Dynamics and Fire Weather at The University of Melbourne
Applications are invited for a two-year postdoctoral research fellow position to work on improving our understanding of the mesoscale dynamics associated with fire weather. Specifically, the main focus will be on the dynamics of localized enhancements to fire danger in regions of complex terrain, which will be explored using high-resolution numerical modelling. Other research topics may include downslope flows, boundary layer turbulence, frontal dynamics, convection, and fire spread modelling. This collaborative project is funded by the Australian Research Council and is led by researchers from The University of Melbourne (Dr Todd Lane) and Monash University (Prof. Michael Reeder); the appointee will form an integral part of this team.
