HPC Systems Engineers

NIWA is a leading environmental research institute and key provider of
atmospheric, freshwater and marine research and consultancy services in New
Zealand.

In 2010, NIWA installed an IBM p575/p6 HPC

Facility (HPCF). This system is expected to increase to 3456 cores in late
2012. It is used to support NIWA's research activities in climate, chemistry
climate, weather, river flood, sea state, ocean, sea-level, and inundation
modelling and forecasting, an operational environmental forecasting system
(EcoConnect) and is one of the three anchor platforms meeting the HPC needs of
the wider New Zealand science community via the New Zealand eScience
Infrastructure (NeSI) framework (http://www.nesi.org.nz/).

We are seeking Systems Engineers capable of both managing a large High
Performance Computer and providing support to operational and science users on
the systems.

design, implementation and operation of Linux and/or Unix services. Familiarity
with AIX, the IBM HPC software stack, GPFS, CSM, xCAT, TSM, TSM for Space
