Linux system administrator 50% - Postdoc / scientist 50% (optional) at the University of Bern, Switzerland
The Climatology group and the Climate Impacts group at the Geography Institute of the University of Bern are looking for a linux system administrator (50% position). The option exists to expand the 50% system administration position by a 50% postdoctoral or scientific research position to a full position.
Linux administration 50%:
You will be responsible for the administration and support of the Linux/ Unix based IT infrastructure of the two research groups. This entails approximately 20 clients, "large-scale" storage and several servers. We are looking for someone with experience in administrating a linux based IT infrastructure and who enjoys working in a scientific environment.
Postdoc position 50% (optional):
The successful candidate will work in the field of climate risks / climate impacts and atmospheric dynamics with Olivia Martius. Detailed research questions can be developed depending on the background of the applicant. A flair for statistics or regional modeling or the handling large data sets is an asset.
