Forwarded from CLIMLIST... School of Geosciences University of Edinburgh Lecturer/Senior Lecturer The School of Geosciences aims to appoint 1 to 3 lecturers/senior lecturers in Earth Systems Science, Glaciology or Chemical Oceanography. Candidates should indicate on their application which lectureship they wish to be considered for and how their existing research and teaching experience would contribute to the role. Academic excellence will be the principle selection criteria for ranking for all lectureships. Earth System Science: Earth system science bridges across all individual research areas within the Global Change Research Institute and transcends discipline-based science by bringing together all the natural sciences. Candidates should demonstrate that they have world-class science to better understand past, present or future changes in the Earth system through measurements, theory, and computational modelling. We particularly encourage applications from candidates who could connect existing research areas within the Institute and seek world class expertise in 1) Observations and modelling of chemistry-climate interactions; 2) Atmospheric and/or ocean dynamics in the contemporary climate system; 3) Role of cloud physics and chemistry in the contemporary climate system; and 4) Data assimilation to understand Earth system behaviour.
