We have a postdoc or research scientist position available to work at the Research Institute for Global Change (part of JAMSTEC) in Yokohama, Japan. The position is funded by a new Japanese multi-centre 5 year project, "Integrated Climate Assessment - Risks, Uncertainties and Society" (ICA-RUS). The position presents an excellent opportunity for an early-career researcher to expand their horizons and develop their research. Through both ICA-RUS and the Japan Uncertainty Modelling Project (JUMP), the employee will be able to collaborate with Japan's most active climate scientists. The terms of employment offer a competitive salary, 4.5 years of funding*, and excellent facilities at RIGC. The broad area of research is quantifying uncertainty and risks due to climate change on the centennial time scale and longer. Within this general area, the employee will be expected to develop and pursue their own research interests and expertise.
