Programmerinitially limited to the duration of two years. After two years there is a possibility for permanent employment. The position is a half-time position, which is currently 19.35 hours per week. When fulfilling all requirements, the salary will be according to the German tariffs for public employees at the level TV-L E11.
Description of the work• further development of an existing coupled climate model (atmosphere-ocean-biogeochemistry)
• execution and analysis of coupled climate model simulations• transfer of complex computer codes between different computer architectures, software programming for post-processing and archiving of model output
• data management Qualification • degree in applied sciences, e.g. informatics • excellent programming skills (especially fortran, shell-scripting)• experience in using high performance computers (vector architecture, massive parallel systems)
