Postdoctoral research position in modeling aviation impacts on global atmospheric composition and climate
Yale University School of Forestry and Environmental Studies invites applications for a postdoctoral associate position in global chemistry-climate modeling. The successful candidate will work on modeling the effects of emissions from civil aviation on global and regional climate. The project involves performing climate response simulations and developing and improving the simulation of ozone chemistry, aviation gas-aerosol interactions, and aerosol indirect effects on ice clouds in a global climate model. The initial appointment is for one year with the possibility of renewal based on performance and continuation of funding. Compensation is commensurate with experience, and includes benefits. The applicant must have a Ph.D. in atmospheric science, physics or mathematics with experience in global chemistry-climate modeling. Advanced scientific programming skills are essential. To apply, send a C.V. and brief statement of interest to Nadine Unger at email@example.com. Start date August 1 2012.
