Executive Level 2 (Upper) (SPOA – Meteorologist)– Ref: 6001 Ongoing - Docklands, Melbourne The Bureau of Meteorology is an Agency in the Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities portfolio of the Australian Government. As Australia’s national weather, climate and water agency, the Bureau’s expertise and services assist Australians in preparing for, and responding to the harsh realities of their natural environment, including drought, floods, fires, storms, tsunami and tropical cyclones. Through regular forecasts, warnings, monitoring and advice spanning the Australian region and Antarctic territory, the Bureau provides one of the most fundamental and widely used services of government. The Bureau is currently seeking to appoint an Executive Leader to head the Victorian Regional Office in delivering forecasts, warnings, monitoring products and services for the community, for emergency service organisations and for advice to the state of Victoria in the planning and preparation for severe weather and flood events. Located in the Docklands in Melbourne, this role requires a dynamic and professional individual with strong leadership skills and strategic capability. To be successful you will have: A strong record of achievement in leading and managing a service-based science program. Excellent engagement and communication skills and demonstrated ability to build sustainable relationships across the community and government agencies.
