The Bioclimatology group at the Georg-August-Universität Goettingen is
offering a

Technician position in bioclimatoloy/micrometeorology/environmental sciences

within the Scientific Project of the CRC 990: A03 / Influence of
tropical land-use transformations on local and regional climate in
Sumatra (Indonesia)

The position (full time) will be limited for 4 years and should be
filled as soon as possible. Salary will be according to the German state
regulated public service salary scale (technician).

Your duties:
The project will investigates carbon, water and energy fluxes between an
oil palm plantation and the atmosphere and environmental variables in
various land-use types. Tasks include installation and maintenance of
automatic micrometeorological stations at various field sites in
Sumatra/ Indonesia, supervision of local assistants, quality control of
data, interaction with project partners.

Your profile:
• Technical training in electronics, mechanics or environmental
measurements.
• Experience with micrometeorological measurements and quality control
of data. Programming skills a plus.
• Willing to collaborate with other researchers of the CRC and
Indonesian Partners
• Proficiency (fluency) in English; German a plus.
• Ability to carry out a fieldwork under challenging field conditions in
the tropics

Working place will in Jambi/Indonesia at the CRC research facilities (up
to 10 months per year) with short visits in Goettingen, Germany.
