The successful candidate will conduct research in the general area of climate and large-scale dynamics focusing on Southeastern US hydrological cycle, modes of low-frequency variability on intraseasonal to interdecadal time scales, and feedback processes in the climate system. A strong background in dynamical and statistical analysis and numerical modeling are required. Experience of working with idealized general circulation models (GCMs) and/or regional climate models is desirable. The preferred starting date is March 1, 2012. The initial appointment is for one year, renewable for up to two additional years subject to satisfactory progress and funding availability. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
