We are searching for a motivated and talented scientist to carry out research to improve our understanding of the response of the global climate to reducing Arctic sea ice. You will perform and analyze climate model sensitivity experiments to determine the mechanisms that govern the climate response to reducing sea ice in the Arctic. This position is funded by the TEA-COSI project which is part of the NERC Arctic research programme and is based in NCAS-Climate in the Department of Meteorology.

You will have:

  -  A PhD (or are about to gain a PhD) in physical or mathematical science
  -  Strong scientific analytical ability, creativity and self-motivation
  -  Interest in climate and atmospheric science
  -  Competence in programming and data analysis
  -  Good communication skills, both written and oral
  -  Ability to maintain productive working relationships
- Research experience in climate modelling or atmospheric science would be an advantage.

Start date: as soon as possible
