ICCSIR has recently announced a vacancy for the permanent faculty position of 
Assistant/Associate Professor. The Advertisement for this appeared in the Times 
of India, Ahmedabad on November 25, 2011 and in Ahmedabad Mirror on November

(ICCSIR)

Announcement of Assistant/Associate Professor Vacancy
ICCSIR is a non-profit, section-25, public-private partnership organization for 
climate and societal impacts research, education, and applications.  It is 
located in the Ahmedabad Education Society campus in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Access 
to state-of-the-art models, data sets, and computing facilities are available.  
Opportunities for scientific and educational collaborations within and outside 
India are also available.  Further information about ICCSIR is available from

ICCSIR invites applications for a permanent faculty position in mesoscale 
weather modeling and prediction with models such as Weather Research and 
Forecasting (WRF); and climate analysis, modeling, and prediction.  Candidates 
must have a Ph.D. degree, should have the ability to thrive in an 
interdisciplinary environment, and should be capable of developing and leading 
a research group.  A demonstrated ability to obtain grants is desirable. 
Responsibilities also include teaching at the post-graduate level, guiding 
students, and contributing to ICCSIR’s education and outreach programs.

Starting position at the assistant or associate professor level; salary; and 
fringe benefits will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The 
appointment in this position will begin on or about 1 February 2012. This 
position will remain open until filled; however, to ensure priority attention,
