The Institute for Meteorology and Climate Research - Atmospheric Aerosol Research (IMK-AAF, <http://www.imk-aaf.kit.edu>) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology has openings for 3 PhD students and 1 Postdoctoral Researcher in several new projects funded by the German Science Foundation DFG:

1 PhD Student: Investigation of dynamic cloud processes by diode laser spectroscopy of water isotopes in the AIDA simulation chamber This project is part of the DFG/NSF‐funded research project “Improving understanding of ice nucleation and growth inhibition mechanisms via new isotopic tracer studies in the AIDA aerosol chamber”. Payment will be according to TV‐L 13 (75%). The position is available for 3 years from December 1st, 2011 or as soon as possible thereafter. For more information, please refer to <http://www.imk-aaf.kit.edu/downloads/Ausschreibung_2011_Isotope-Doktorand_Saathoff.pdf> or contact Dr. Harald Saathoff (harald.saathoff@kit.edu).

1 PhD Student: Measurement of the microphysical and optical properties of mixed-phase clouds at the High Altitude Research Station Jungfraujoch (3568 m a.s.l.) This project is part of the bilateral DFG/SNF-funded research project “Interaction of Aerosols with Clouds and Radiation”. Payment will be according to TV‐L 13 (75%). The position is available for 3 years from January 1st, 2012 or as soon as possible thereafter. For more information, please refer to <http://www.imk-aaf.kit.edu/downloads/Ausschreibung_2011_ISI-Doktorand_Schnaiter.pdf> or contact Dr. Martin Schnaiter (martin.schnaiter@kit.edu).

1 PhD Student: Mesoscale simulations of aerosol‐cloud interactions
This project is part of the DFG research unit INUIT (Ice Nuclei Research Unit). Payment will be according to TV‐L 13 (75%). The position is available for 3 years from January 1st, 2012 or as soon as possible thereafter. For more information, please refer to <http://www.imk-aaf.kit.edu/downloads/Ausschreibung_2011_INUIT-Doktorand_Hoose.pdf> or contact Dr. Corinna Hoose (corinna.hoose@kit.edu).

1 Postdoctoral Position: AIDA cloud chamber studies of heterogeneous ice nucleation This project is part of the DFG research unit INUIT (Ice Nuclei Research Unit). Payment will be according to TV‐L 13. The position is available from January 1st, 2012. The duration of the contract is for 2 years, with the possibility of extension.
