Vacancy: Climate IT Officer Position at the Bureau of Meteorology
(Australia)

The Bureau of Meteorology is seeking a person to provide high-level
Information Technology (IT) support to a number of research projects
within CAWCR aimed at improving understanding of climate features and
tropical cyclones in the Pacific region. The appointee will aid in the
extraction and processing of climate model data required for these
projects and provide other high level IT support. They will have
knowledge and experience of extraction, management and analysis of large
data sets and good programming and IT-systems support skills.

The position (reference number: 12769) will be based in Docklands,
Melbourne, Australia within the Centre for Australian Weather and
Climate Research (CAWCR), a joint research centre between the Australian
Bureau of Meteorology and the CSIRO (<http://www.cawcr.gov.au/>).  The
appointment is for approximately 2 years at the is at Information
Technology Officer Class 2 level (Salary range: $69,729 - $78,157 per
annum, plus an additional 15.4% superannuation).
