Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Monash University, Melbourne, Australia
Applications are invited for a three-year fixed term postdoctoral Research Fellow. This position is part of the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence in Climate System Science. The aim of the research project is to further our understanding of the life cycle of Rossby waves in the Southern Hemisphere and their role in controlling both extratropical cyclogenesis and the low-frequency variability. The project will involve the use of the global reanalyses and the Australian Community Climate and Earth System Simulator (ACCESS), and may be supported by idealized modelling. The successful applicant should be an active researcher with a PhD (or equivalent) in atmospheric science or a related discipline.
