Postdoctoral Position in Palaeoclimatology (Jan 2012-April 2014).

We seek a highly motivated postdoc to work on lake sediments from
Central Asia and China in the project CADY (Central Asian Climate
Dynamics) funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.

The tasks include geochemical (isotope, inorganic), sedimentological
analyses on lake sediments, and environmental monitoring. A knowledge of
multivariate statistics, age model development, mapping techniques (GIS)
is desirable. The candidate will also be expected to participate in
coring expeditions in high altitude lakes and to oversee core
documentation and logging. Fluency in English is essential. Knowledge of
German and Russian will be an advantage. Salary will be at the German EG
13 TVöD-O level.
