OCE Postdoctoral Fellowship - Climate Change, Variability and Predictability * Excellent opportunity to work in a leading scientific institution with dedicated professionals * Offering outstanding career development and professional support * Join CSIRO - Australia's premier science and technology research organisation We are seeking an innovative Postdoctoral Fellow to join our climate processes team and work on how the variability and predictability of the El Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO) may change with continuing global warming. Specifically you will: * Analyse and rank major CMIP5 coupled ocean-atmosphere models in their ability to reproduce the statistical properties of ENSO variability during the 20th century and study their projections into the 21st century with greenhouse gas forcing. * Develop a conceptual and mechanistic model of changes in ENSO variability due to global warming that can explain regional impacts of ENSO including in the Australian region. * Study the effectiveness of ensemble forecasting schemes in a warmer climate, compared with the current climate, using coupled ocean-atmosphere models developed at CAWCR. * Publish the research results in quality papers in international high-impact journals.
