The Department of Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology invites applications for a postdoctoral research position focusing on rainfall extremes and surface processes. The successful candidate will work closely with Drs. Paul O'Gorman, Adam Schlosser, and Taylor Perron to study how variability in precipitation patterns associated with climate change will affect landslides and erosion. Experience with statistical analysis or modeling in geomorphology or atmospheric science is desirable. The initial appointment will be for one year, with the possibility of extension for up to two additional years. The position is available immediately, and will remain open until filled. To apply, send a CV (including a list of publications), a summary of relevant research experience, and the names, telephone numbers and email addresses of at least three references to email@example.com, with the subject line "Rainfall postdoc". Prospective applicants are encouraged to contact the PIs to discuss the nature of the research to be conducted. MIT is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer; applications from women and underrepresented minority candidates are encouraged.
