The atmospheric, energy and environmental physics group at NTNU is seeking a post-doctoral researcher in the area of middle atmosphere dynamics to undertake the analysis of atmospheric carbon monoxide from a 230 GHz radiometer operating in Antarctica. The profiles of CO will be used in conjunction with a coupled chemistry-dynamics model (WACCM) to assess the impact of northern hemisphere stratospheric warming events on vertical motions over Antarctica. This position will collaborate with Drs. Patrick Espy, Robert Hibbins, Frode Stordal and Yvan Orsolini, and will be primarily based at NTNU in Trondheim, Norway, with some time also spent at the University of Oslo.
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science or a related field; strong analytical, statistical, and programming skills; a good working knowledge of English; and the ability and aptitude to network with collaborating groups. A background or interest in inversion techniques, data analysis or modelling, is also desirable. If you are interested in the position, have any questions or require further information, please email us (firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com).
