Postdoctoral Research Associate Position at University of Arizona

We invite applications for a postdoctoral research associate position in
global hybrid 3-D hydrological model development at the University of
Arizona (UA). The initial appointment is for one year and renewable for
two additional years depending on performance.

We seek a highly motivated candidate to develop and evaluate the first
hybrid 3-D hydrological model with a horizontal grid spacing of 1 km for
the NCAR Community Land Model (CLM). This is part of a DOE SciDAC funded
project with high risk/high reward potential. This position provides
outstanding opportunities to work with an interdisciplinary team of
atmospheric scientist (Xubin Zeng, UA), hydrologists (Peter Troch, UA;
Dave Gochis, NCAR), geomorphologist (Jon Pelletier, UA), land modelers
(Dave Lawrence, NCAR; Guo-Yue Niu, UA; Xubin Zeng, UA), and software
engineers (Erik Kluzek, NCAR).

A Ph.D. in atmospheric science, hydrology, geoscience, or an
interdisciplinary combination of these areas with very strong
programming skills is required. This position can start immediately or
wait for a few months (for fresh Ph.D.). Review of applications will
start on 9/29/2011 and the position will remain open until filled.
Candidates should submit the applications online at
<> (job #48417). For additional
information, please contact Profs. Xubin Zeng (<>;
520-621-4782), Peter Troch (<>), or Jon Pelletier
