ASSESSMENT DATA COORDINATOR/RESEARCH ASSOCIATE – ASHEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA

The NOAA Cooperative Institute for Climate and Satellites (CICS)-NC is
seeking an Assessment Data Coordinator (Research Associate) to work in
Asheville, NC in collaboration with scientists at the NOAA National
Climatic Data Center (NCDC). This position**will provide program
management for NOAA’s and the NOAA Technical Support Unit’s (TSU’s)
extensive portfolio of national and regional activities associated with
the National Climate Assessment.This position will also be responsible
for coordinating the efforts of a technical and science support team in
these efforts.

Minimum qualifications include: M.S. in meteorology, atmospheric,
geophysics, engineering, oceanographic or environmental science; at
least 2 peer reviewed publications in climate sciences or a related
area; 2 to 5 years experience in working in situ and remotely sensed
climate data; excellent verbal and written communication skills and
solid interpersonal skills; must be able to work independently as well
as make positive team contributions; and ability to multi-task and meet
deadlines. Preferred qualifications include: More than 3 peer reviewed
publications in climate sciences or a related area; experience with
federal agencies; and program coordination or management experience.
Candidate should also be familiar with standard desktop graphic
development (using Adobe Creative Suite, Dreamweaver, etc.
