The NOAA Cooperative Institute for Climate and Satellites (CICS)-NC is
seeking an Assessment Program Coordinator (Research Scholar) to work in
Asheville, NC in collaboration with scientists at the NOAA National
Climatic Data Center (NCDC). This position will provide program
management for NOAA’s and the NOAA Technical Support Unit’s (TSU’s)
extensive portfolio of national and regional activities associated with
the National Climate Assessment.  This position will also be responsible
for coordinating the efforts of a technical and science support team in
these efforts.

Minimum qualifications include: Ph.D. in meteorology, atmospheric
sciences, computer, mathematics, engineering, oceanographic or
environmental sciences AND five or more years experience in working in
situ and remotely sensed climate related observations AND five or more
publications in climate sciences or a related area; OR M.S. in
meteorology, atmospheric sciences, computer, mathematics, engineering,
oceanographic or environmental sciences AND ten or more years experience
in working with in situ and remotely sensed climate related observations
AND five or more publications in climate sciences or a related area.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and solid interpersonal
skills. Ability to work independently as well as make positive team
contributions. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.  Preferred
qualifications include a Ph.D.; more than five peer reviewed
publications in climate sciences or a related area; supervisory or
program management experience.
