Applications are invited for a postdoctoral researcher in Climate & Ocean 
Physics to join the group of Dr. Laure Zanna 
(http://www.atm.ox.ac.uk/user/zanna) within the sub-Department of Atmospheric, 
Oceanic and Planetary Physics at the University of Oxford. The post is 
available starting 1st October 2011 (or as soon as possible thereafter) for a 
fixed-term period of up to two years. 

The position will be focused on using observations, theory and models to 
develop rigorous stochastic parametrizations of unresolved turbulent ocean 
processes (e.g., convection, upper ocean mixing) in climate models. The 
successful applicant will guide this research activity and is expected to 
develop original research strategies. The results should be presented at 
national and international meetings as well as published in peer-reviewed 
publications.
