The RICAM Special Semester on "Multiscale Simulation and Analysis in Energy and
Environment" is fast approaching, and in order to finalize our bookings of the
accommodation, it is crucial for us to now fix the dates of your stay.

Further we would like to bring to your attention that we are still offering
scholarships for PhD students and young PostDocs to participate in the Special

The Special Semester with
- its four focused workshops with world class speakers,
- the world class research environment/research groups present at the RICAM,
- about 10 established researchers in the field and 10-15 young researchers
present in Linz as longterm visitors for the whole semester,
- special weekly lecture and seminar courses laid on for the programme,
will be a great opportunity for young researchers to interact with senior and
junior colleagues and to deepen and broaden their knowledge in their area of
research. Therefore it would be great if you could bring this opportunity to
the attention of any suitable students and if you could encourage them strongly
to apply.

The scholarships cover accommodation and daily allowance for the time in Linz.
If any support towards travel costs is needed, please let us know and we will
try to also help with this.

The recipients of scholarships are required to participate in the entire
Special Semester (starting October 3rd and ending December 16). It is
understood that the recipients use this time to interact with the other guests
of the Special Semester, participate in the ongoing workshops and the
accompanying seminar and special lecture. They are also encouraged to
participate in the poster session of the workshop that fits their topic best.

For details on how to apply see the special semester webpage
