Dear all,

Please find attached a job description for a field research technician requested by the Catalan Institute of Climate Sciencies (www.ic3.cat).

IC3 is a climate research institute based in Barcelona, Spain, whose main scientific goal is to assess and understand climate variability and change at both global and regional scales to improve both predictions and projections. Linked to this goal, IC3 works on understanding and simulating how global change modulates variability and change in society and ecosystems.

The Institute is undertaking a new project, named ClimaDat, with the aim of creating long-term climate observation sites in natural, protected environments all around the Spanish territory. Gathered data will be open and available to the scientific community and also to the general public. Educative and divulgative actions also constitute an important part of the project. Permanent exhibitions showing real-time data and their relationship with the local environment are part of the project.

The position starts ASAP after April 15th, 2011 (offer closing date). Applicants should send CV and Expression of Interest to jobs@ic3.cat indicating IC3-CDAT-2011-01 on the "Subject".

Hoping that you find the offer interesting, kind regards.
