YALE  UNIVERSITY:  Postdoctoral Positions in Ocean, Atmosphere and Climate Dynamics

Two postdoctoral positions in Ocean, Atmosphere and Climate Dynamics are available at Yale University, Department of Geology and Geophysics (http://earth.geology.yale.edu/~avf5). Particular fields of research include ocean circulation, ocean-atmosphere interactions, the role of ocean in climate, climate variability, paleoclimate. Examples of current research projects: El Niño in past and future climates, Stability of the Atlantic meridional overturning circulation, Climate impacts of ocean mixing induced by tropical cyclones. The work will involve a combination of numerical modeling, analyses of observational, proxy and GCM data, and analytical approaches. A PhD in physical oceanography, atmospheric sciences or related disciplines is required. Experience with oceanic or atmospheric general circulation models (GCM) is a big advantage. Funding is currently available for two years but can be extended in future.
