YALE  UNIVERSITY:  Postdoctoral Positions in Ocean, Atmosphere and Climate Dynamics

Two postdoctoral positions in Ocean, Atmosphere and Climate Dynamics are available at Yale University, Department of Geology and Geophysics ( Particular fields of research include ocean circulation, ocean-atmosphere interactions, the role of ocean in climate, climate variability, paleoclimate. Examples of current research projects: El Niño in past and future climates, Stability of the Atlantic meridional overturning circulation, Climate impacts of ocean mixing induced by tropical cyclones. The work will involve a combination of numerical modeling, analyses of observational, proxy and GCM data, and analytical approaches. A PhD in physical oceanography, atmospheric sciences or related disciplines is required. Experience with oceanic or atmospheric general circulation models (GCM) is a big advantage. Funding is currently available for two years but can be extended in future. Successful candidates will begin their program at Yale on or after September 1, 2011. The applicants should email a CV, a statement of research interests, one reprint or preprint, and the names of three references to Professor Alexey Fedorov (alexey dot fedorov at yale dot edu; Subject: Postdoctoral Search).
