POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSISTANT

Grade 7: Salary £29,099-£35,788 p.a.

The Department of Physics, University of Oxford, is seeking to appoint a Post Doctoral Research Assistant in Physics. The post is immediately available and is a fixed-term 2 year position intended for an individual who has recently completed a doctorate or is at an early stage in their academic career. The scientific aims of the post are to investigate radiative transfer modelling and to develop retrieval algorithms to determine atmospheric and surface parameters. The job will require the application of radiative transfer models to simulate the measurements of a number of different satellite Fourier-transform spectrometers: MIPAS, GOSAT, IASI and the proposed PREMIER instrument. The postholder will be expected to carry out research of international standing, and attend meetings and conferences.
