The University of Innsbruck seeks to expand its current expertise in atmospheric physics and thus invites applications for the position of a

University Professor

for

Atmospheric Physics

at the Department for Meteorology and Geophysics in the School of Geo- and Atmospheric Science.

The position will be tenured and based on a civil-law employment contract with the University.

Responsibilities include

·       Pursuing the subject of “Atmospheric Physics” both in research and teaching with a focus on observational and analysis methods, especially in complex terrain.

·       Offering courses in atmospheric physics such as atmospheric radiation, clouds and precipitation and remote sensing for the Bachelor, Master and PhD programs in Atmospheric Science as well as participation in the planned MSc programme “Climate Change in Mountain Regions”.

·       Participating in the Universitys interdisciplinary research programme on “Climate and Cryosphere”.

·       Participating in international and national research projects

Eligibility requirements include

A Ph.D., a “habilitation” or an equivalent record of research and teaching, publications in highly ranked peer reviewed journals, involvement in international projects, research stays abroad and successful grant acquisition.
