The Weather and Energy Research Unit (part of CSIRO Marine and Atmospheric Research and is located in Canberra) is offering a Research Scientist Position in Renewable Energy. The role will involve research with an emphasis on the interaction between weather processes and both wind and solar generators, and the consequent impact on the electricity distribution system. The successful applicant will be responsible for the development of new and innovative techniques, and the development of relevant applications leading to improved outcomes for the renewable energy industry. Applicants for the position must have a PhD in a discipline relevant to mathematical modelling of atmospheric processes, such as Meteorology or Fluid Mechanics.
