GexCon seeks a software architect with experience in building parallel
CFD software

- For the next generation of the FLACS simulator, the software architect
  will be leading the restructuring and extension of the software.
- Analyze performance and extend the parallelization.
- Improve software quality and component design.
- Optimize our software development processes, establish technical and
  software quality standards.
- Document and communicate design.

- Experience with software architecture and engineering, ideally from
  CFD or another high-performance computing field.
- In-depth knowledge of parallelization with MPI and OpenMP.
- Expert in Fortran and C++.
- High-level application and system oversight.
- Knowledge of (parallel) numerical methods and computer science.
- Testing, verification and validation experience.

The position falls under our R&D Department at the main office in
Bergen, Norway. Candidates must have good command of the English
language, and women are particularly encouraged to apply.

The R&D Department at GexCon develops FLACS, including associated pre-
and post processing tools. Current R&D activities include
parallelisation, improved modelling of atmospheric flow and dispersion,
wind farm optimization, explosion modelling, and fire hazards in the
petrochemical industry. GexCon carries out research in close
collaboration with industrial and academic partners, and the R&D
department has grown significantly in recent years.
